Product description

Loofah is a plant of tropical origin that is cultivated in Spain in an artisanal way thanks to an agroforestry project to revitalize the natural cultivation of vegetable sponges.

This plant is cut and shaped to make natural sponges and scrubbers. Thanks to the roughness of the loofah, the sponges have exfoliating properties for the skin.

When in contact with water, these sponges release cucurbitacin, a compound that provides hydration, which is why when wet they increase in size three or four times.

Loofah is a product with a wide variety of properties, among which the following stand out:

• Prevent cellulite.
• Remove dead skin.
• Stimulate blood circulation.
• Prevent hair ingrowth.

Tips for use and maintenance

It should be rinsed after each use, wrung out and left to air dry. You can use the built-in sisal cord to do this.
It should be stored in a dry place or simply left hanging.
Occasionally you can boil them for 15 seconds to kill bacteria.
When it changes in colour or begins to smell can be composted.
